Self-registered day guests for WiFi-Access

If you have guests that need WiFi internet access they can now follow this simple procedure below to register their device(s) themselves:

1. choose SSID public or public-5 on the device to be registered for internet access
2. open a link on a browser and it will be redirected to the new ETH landing page (see screenshot top)
3. enter the mobile phone number, accept the terms of use and click on "Request access code" (see attached screenshot top)
4. a 4-digit access code is then sent per SMS to the mobile phone which can be entered into the access code field (see screenshot bottom)
5. upon submitting the correct access code internet access is granted to the device by registering its MAC address

Please note:

• Mobile reception is not available in all ETH Zurich buildings. It may be necessary to go near an open window or out of the building to receive the SMS with the access code.
  
• Internet access is granted for 5 days.
• It's possible to register up to 3 different devices with the same mobile number. Two of those can use the internet at the same time.
• Group accounts for conferences, workshops etc. won't be available anymore. Their members can now use this self-registration.
• Guests that are staying longer than 5 days at the ETH need a dedicated guest account. Ask your IT-support.
